Want to have some fun, compete for prizes, and help out a local organization? Then sign up for the Charity Poker Tournament held on May 13th at the Bellingham Yacht Club!
No poker skills? No problem! They’ve even got beginner-level tickets to let you be part of the fun and learn the game in a low-pressure, high instruction environment. The beginner table is not part of the tournament but has a professional dealer who is patient and eager to teach newcomers how the game works.
Proceeds from the event benefit Skookum Kids, an organization that’s bringing fresh ideas and new energy to a broken foster care system. They believe the world is full of people who want to help but don’t know how. In light of that, Skookum Kids has crafted a suite of opportunities so that everyone can participate in this important work. At Skookum Kids, you can either become a licensed foster parent, a volunteer, mentor, or even a staff member! These opportunities range from one-time events to year-long commitments that enable a sustained relationship with a particular child. They take great pride in finding the right way for every person to participate in this revolution.
