Hempler’s Receives Housing Hero Award from Lydia Place

At Hempler’s, we are passionate about our community. For the past 80 years we have been humbled to have received their support, and we consider it a privilege to be able to support our neighbors in return. We have enjoyed a partnership with Lydia Place in Bellingham for the past 7 years; they have proven themselves to be a leader in serving our most vulnerable community members. We have witnessed first-hand how Lydia Place combines compassionate care with evidence-based practices to break the cycle of homelessness and help our neighbors achieve sustainable independence. We are blessed to have such experts in our own backyard.

Several times each year we participate in fundraising initiatives to support the organization, and at Thanksgiving we partner with Haggen to provide meal boxes for residents. We at Hempler’s were honored to have been chosen as one of their “Housing Heroes” this year, and recognized along with other community champions during their annual awards banquet (virtual for 2020, of course).
