With a bit of spice, a lot of cheese, and wholesome sausage, this appetizer is a crowd-pleaser, and you will have everyone asking you for your recipe before they leave.

It’s ready, set & time for kick-off with this appetizer. For easy transport, you can make this in a slow cooker or a cast iron skillet on the stovetop.


1 pound Hempler's Ground Pork
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
16 oz. Velveeta cheese, cubed
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons paprika
4 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons cumin
1 tablespoon lime juice

To serve:
Tortilla chips

Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and add pork—season with salt and pepper. Cook until brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes.

Turn the heat down to medium. Add the cheese, milk, and seasonings. Frequently stir until the cheese melts completely. Reduce heat to low and cover, stirring occasionally, until ready to serve.

Serve with tortilla chips, sliced veggies, or baguette.
