These small nibbles combine the sweet taste of dates with the smoky flavors of Hempler’s bacon, creating an appetizer that will leave your guests craving more. The best part? You only need three ingredients!

Ingredients

1 package Hempler’s Center Cut Bacon
16 dates
4 ounces goat cheese
Hot honey - optional

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Slice the dates lengthwise on one side to create an opening. Remove the pit.

Using a spoon, stuff a small amount of goat cheese into the cavity of each date and press the sides together to close.

Cut the bacon slices in half. Wrap each date with a piece of bacon and secure it with a toothpick.

Arrange evenly on a baking sheet with raised edges and bake for 10 minutes. Flip the dates with tongs and bake for another 5 minutes until browned to your liking. Flip the dates on last time and bake for 5 minutes or until the bacon is nice and crispy.

Remove from the oven, place on a paper towel-lined plate, and let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

If you are feeling spicy - drizzle with hot honey before serving.
