This delicious grilled Chicken Philly Cheesesteak Sausage sandwich recipe is the ultimate crowd-pleaser. This summer sandwich is served in a warm, toasted roll, packed with juicy grilled sausage featuring our favorite grill marks, topped with perfectly grilled onions and peppers, and finished with melted provolone. Dig in and enjoy!
Ingredients
1 package Hempler’s Chicken Philly Cheesesteak Smoked Sausage
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow onion, sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
8 slices provolone cheese
4 sandwich or sausage rolls, split
Instructions
Preheat a grill and grill basket to medium-high heat.
Toss sliced peppers and onions with olive oil, salt, and a few cracks of pepper. Add the veggies to the grill basket. Cook the vegetables for 10-12 minutes, tossing at the halfway point.
Place the sausages on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes, until perfectly golden and heated. Remove from the grill, cool slightly, and slice on a bias.
Open the sandwich rolls and place 2 slices of provolone on each roll. Place the rolls on the warm grill, cover, and cook until the cheese has melted about 1 minute.
Place sandwich rolls on a platter. Divide the peppers and onions among the rolls. Add a sliced sausage to each roll.
