Senior Director of Operations
Hempler Foods Group is seeking a Safety Manager who is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees working in the production environment. This role develops and manages Hempler’s safety culture, compliance with regulatory standards, and the development of safety training programs. The Production Safety Manager will proactively identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and work closely with other department heads to foster a safety-first culture across all production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure the facility adheres to all safety standards and regulations, maintaining up-to-date records for inspections and safety compliance
• Monitors and enforces compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
• Conducts regular safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments of the production areas
• Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risk
• Conduct regular safety meetings
• Assist in the development of safety training programs for production employees
• Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
• Prepare and submit incident reports in compliance with regulatory agencies
• Analyze accident data and trends to recommend improvements to processes and safety procedures
• Maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, fire safety, and chemical spill response
• Conduct regular drills and exercises to ensure employees are prepared for emergencies
• Ensure the production area is equipped with necessary safety equipment, such as first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency exits
• Work closely with production supervisors, managers, and department heads to ensure safety is integrated into daily operations
• Communicate safety concerns and improvements to upper management, ensuring leadership is informed and involved in safety initiatives
