POSITION: Kitchen-Production Line Worker

Kitchen-Production Line Worker

REPORTS TO:

Kitchen Supervisor

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Work closely with co-workers in converting the raw materials into finished products according to the company and general industry standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to read and interpret rules and procedures.
  • Previous food plant experience helpful.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish helpful.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Be a self-motivated individual.
  • Must have excellent safety work habits.
  • Able to train others.
  • Able to work well with others and to be a team member.
  • Be flexible and willing to work various shifts as needed.
  • Show enthusiasm, initiative and pride in work.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: 1-2 years progressively responsible related experience required. Additional education or certification may be substituted for some experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Organize kitchen tools & set up equipment.
  • Sharpen cutting tools.
  • Sanitize working areas, tools and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Trim, cut, chop, bone, pump, hang-, soak, etc. designated products.
  • Add specified spices, etc.
  • Perform quality control tasks.
  • Pull meat for next day use.
  • Log temperatures and all other required information.
  • Organize work environment on a continuous basis.
  • Ensure that all equipment is in good operating condition.
  • Comply with GMP standards/HACCP standards.
  • Assist others where needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Temperatures can be extreme (hot or cold) depending on the season and the area of work.
  • Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s).
  • Communication skills using the spoken word.
  • Ability to see within normal parameters.
  • Ability to hear within normal range.
  • Ability to lift at least 60 pounds.

PAY RANGE:

$18 - $25
