POSITION: Human Resource Manager (Onsite)

Human Resource Manager (Onsite)

We’re Hiring: Human Resource Manager (Onsite)

WHERE: Hempler’s Foods Group – 5470 Nielson Ave

LOCATION: Ferndale, WA

At Hempler’s Foods Group, our story began in the early 1800s in a family sausage kitchen in Borken, Germany—and continues today with a deep commitment to craftsmanship, integrity, and people. From Hans Hempler’s journey to becoming a master sausage maker to building a legacy in the United States, our history is rooted in quality, tradition, and passion.

Today, we’re looking for a people-first Human Resources Manager to help carry that legacy forward by shaping a strong, inclusive, and high‑performing workplace culture.

As our Human Resources Manager, you will be the senior HR presence at our Ferndale manufacturing plant—owning the people strategy, leading the HR team onsite, and partnering directly with plant and corporate leadership to drive business results through people.

  • You’ll influence culture.
  • You’ll coach and challenge leaders.
  • You’ll balance strategic planning with handson execution.

This is a hands-on, strategic role ideal for an HR leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and thinking long-term. You’ll champion employee engagement, guide performance management, ensure compliance, and foster an environment where people feel valued, supported, and empowered.

If you thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, enjoy coaching leaders, and want to make a meaningful impact—this role is for you.

SCHEDULE:  Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm Flexibility available. This is an onsite position five days per week initially, with potential for one remote day per week after full training.

Wage: $120,000.00 – $135,000.00 annually, depending on experience. (Subject to all required taxes and withholdings).

What You’ll Own

  • Lead, develop, and manage the plant HR team, including direct supervision
  • Own HR strategy and execution at the plant level, ensuring alignment with company goals
  • Partner with corporate HR to deploy and enhance company-wide programs, policies, and practices
  • Drive employee relations strategy—leading investigations, ensuring consistency, and reinforcing accountability
  • Build and sustain a workplace culture grounded in trust, engagement, and performance
  • Coach leaders at all levels on performance management, employee development, and conflict resolution
  • Lead the performance review process and elevate leadership capability across the organization
  • Oversee benefits administration and ensure employees understand and maximize their offerings
  • Design and lead recognition, rewards, and service award programs
  • Develop and deliver training programs for managers and employees, ensuring legal compliance and leadership effectiveness
  • Own compliance across all applicable employment laws and regulations
  • Maintain audit‑ready HR records and data integrity
  • Support plant safety and risk management initiatives
  • Analyze workforce data and generate actionable HRIS reporting
  • Participate in cross‑functional leadership meetings and annual HR planning
  • Lead and support special projects tied to manufacturing and operational improvement
